On June 23, 2016, Srs. Elma, Rossel and Yolanda went to Inauaia Parish in Bereina Diocese to see the house that is being offered for the use of the sisters for their outreach program there.
They were welcomed by the parish priest, Fr. John Paul who was very cordial to them. He moved to the very old sisters' convent in order to give the priest's house to the sisters. The sisters joyfully accepted the house and whole heartedly thanked Fr. John Paul for his generosity. Elma mentioned the possibility that the sisters can give cooking and sewing lessons simultaneously to the women for 5 days to maximize the time every time they will conduct training there. C-T Bonifacia is primarily responsible for the outreach program in skills training in Bereina Diocese.
The travel time from the city to Inauaia is one and a half to two hours. A bonus during this trip was the visit to the family of Susan, an SSJ pre-novice who is currently at the Pre-Novitiate House in Rosario, Cavite, Philippines. The sisters brought their food for lunch and shared it with the members of Susan’s family. They had lunch together in their house located along the road.
The sisters went back to Port Moresby with the fruits and vegetables given by Susan's family.
