Pre-novitiate Community Rosario, Cavite. Celebration of the Feast of St. Bonifacia

 June 6, 2019

In the Parish of the Most Holy Rosary, during the celebration of the holy mass at six o’ clock in the morning, Fr. Phem, the parish priest, used the memorial of St. Bonifacia Rodriguez. In his homily, he emphasized the silence and the humility of St. Bonifacia amidst trials, humiliation, and calumnies; that she spent hours of prayer, entrusting everything to God. He likewise said that in her humble and simple dwelling, she experienced God in her work as a cord maker and mentioned that any type of work is dignifying when we harmonize it with prayer.

In the afternoon at five o’ clock, the community had another celebration. Luong Thi Thu was initiated to the Pre-noviceship stage of formation through a simple Ritual of Passage. Thu stayed in our community in Vietnam for almost two years for her aspirancy. She arrived in the Philippines on May 4, 2019. Raquel, the formator, read the vision and mission proper of this stage.

Thu, then, offered as symbol of her journey, a fallen leaf that is ready to accept and leave behind all things in order to allow herself to be transformed in her following of Jesus in Nazareth.

As a sign of acceptance on the part of the Holy Family Province of the entrance of Thu to the Pre-noviceship stage, the necklace which carries the medal of the Holy Family was put around her neck by Sr. Raquel.

Words of acceptance from the members of the formative CT in accompanying Thu in her journey followed:

May St. Bonifacia and Fr. Butiña, be your constant inspiration and guide in this path you have chosen and have St. Joseph as your model and protector.

There were two searchers present during the ritual celebration namely: Leini from Rosario, Cavite and Annie Jane from Ilasan, Tayabas, Quezon. Ms. Nena, one of the coordinators from the factory of GFILM in Rosario, Cavite also attended.

As one family, let us journey together in praying for Thu and for our perseverance in the following of Jesus, the prayer-worker in Nazareth.

THANK YOU!
