Gene, Maria, Kim Thi and Thu (our pre-novice) joined in the Vocation Festival in Silang, Cavite organized by the Diocese of Imus on December 7, 2019. There were around five thousand youth participants from the diffferent Parishes. The sisters introduced our Congregation, distributed brochures, danced with the youth and provided service in individual counselling and spiritual direction. They were amazed seeing a big number of youth actively participating in all the activities. They discovered during individual encounters that the youth are thirsting to know the meaning of their lives. They went home at almost 9P.M.
The youth group of Sto. Rosario Parish held their Christmas party with us in our house on December 15, 2019. They started with informal sharing after which shared lunch together. After the meal, the group was given a session on Advent (What are you waiting for?) and sharing among themselves followed. Then they had a number of games where everyone participated and enjoyed. We had gift-giving to each one. Before they left, they celebrated the birthday of one of the members in a simple merienda. They finished the activity being contented and grateful for the experience with the Sisters.
After the activity, all of us Sisters hurriedly fixed the things and rushed to go to the Parish of Sto. Rosario in Amaya, Tanza, Cavite, for the Vocation Talk through the powerpoint presentation of our Congregation and distribution of SSJ brochures and prayer to St. Bonifacia after the 6 p.m. Mass .
On December 23, 2019, we had the Christmas party with the three BEC(Basic Ecclessial Community) groups of Dreamland in the afternoon. We began with a prayer led by one of the members, welcomed them to the community followed by the video about the Nativity and reflection.
They had games about how the family members relate with each other to help deepen and strenghten their relatioships. Followed next was the presention of the different groups and children to showcase their talents and to overcome their shyness. We had a simple “salu-salo” and gift-giving. It was the first time for most of them to experience this kind of gathering that gave them joy of being given importance. They were very grateful especially when they received “noche buena” packs.
We ended the activity with a closing prayer that led them to experience that Jesus is with us, the Emmanuel, by kissing the image of Baby Jesus.
December 25,2019. Through the generosity of other Community-Taller and friends, the Christmas party and gift-giving of almost 200 children and poor people of Rosario was done.
The children and mothers came in by groups for they could not be accommodated in the house if they come in together. The first group came in at 8:30 A.M. and the last group arrived at 5:00 P.M. All the groups were welcomed heartily. We started with the opening prayer followed by the video presentation of the Nativity of Jesus with a simple deepening on the meaningful celebration of Jesus’ birth that brings love, peace, joy and justice to each one’s heart.
