St. Theresita’s Academy (Silay City, Philippines) Celebrates The Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary (October 7, 2016)
“When you say the Rosary, the angels rejoice, the Blessed Trinity delights in it, my Son finds joy in it, too, and I myself am happier than you can possibly guess. After the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, there is nothing in the Church that I love as much as the Rosary.” (Our Lady to Blessed Allan de la Roche)
“The Rosary is a
long chain that links heaven and earth. One end of it is in our hands and the
other end is in the hands of the holy Virgin… The rosary Prayer rises like
incense to the feet of the Almighty. Mary responds at once like beneficial dew,
bringing new life to human hearts.” (St. Therese of Lisieux)
Since the beginning
of the foundation of St. Theresita’s Academy, the Siervas de San Jose has been
continuously promoting and inculcating to all the Theresians (Administrators,
Faculty, Staff, students and parents) deep love and devotion to our Blessed
Mother Mary through the Rosary Prayer which they consider as one of the most beautiful
and rich in graces of all prayers. In fact, for some years now, the Rosary has
been prayed in the school every day, not only during the month of October.
The celebration of
the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary last October 7, 2016 was very touching and
meaningful through the very creative and unique Living Rosary participated by
everybody in the school.
All the beads of
the Rosary were represented by students or teachers. However, the fifty students
who represented the five decades of the Rosary also represented the fifty
different saints in the Church. Before
praying the Rosary, each student dressed in the attire of the particular saint
he/she represented was called to the center as the Prayer Leader read a short
information about the saint represented. It was done by tens to signify each
decade of the Rosary. St. Bonifacia, of course, was included among the fifty
saints.

The five mysteries of the Rosary were taken from the different sets of Mysteries: First Joyful Mystery - the Annunciation, Second Luminous Mystery – The Wedding at Cana, Third Sorrowful Mystery – The Crowning with thorns, Fourth Glorious Mystery – The Assumption and Fifth Glorious Mystery – The Coronation. Before the recitation of the prayers for each mystery, the bible passage on the particular mystery was read with its accompanying enactment to enable a deeper reflection on the mystery as the prayers were recited.
