Hosted by the Novitiate community (Mandaluyong), our celebration of the 141 st anniversary of the foundation of our congregation-Siervas de San Jose was marked with simplicity, familiarity and joy. The video excerpts on the life and mission of Fr. Buti ñ a,SJ served as the introduction of the Eucharistic Celebration focusing on what he meant by “Love is the best teacher for all that is good.” After the mass, the different realities of women workers in the Philippines, Vietnam and Papua New Guinea were creatively presented, and the responses we make as SSJs were concretely expressed through the faith-life sharing of the three talleres-workers of Mandaluyong. From the sharing, it is likewise evident that truly the liberation of women workers will come from the same social strata for it is through the communal living experiences of the Charism that can empower the person anew leading to her being a ‘leaven for the growth of another’.
