SR. CONCEPCION, SSJ, BISHOP OTTO SEPARY  AND SR. LUCRECIA,SSJ Sr. Lucrecia Camiring, SSJ, Sr. Concepcion  Cañonero , SSJ and companions travelled to Bereina on Sunday morning, 17 th of May for the 2 nd batch of training at Inauia. The participants were already waiting for them when they arrived in the place. Majority of the participants, both in cooking and in sewing, are from far villages.Seventeen of them are from Oriropetana village which is more or less two hours walk to the training place and three are from Papagogo. The rest of the participants are from the nearby villages like Eboa, Inauia, and Inaoae. Due to transport problem, most of the participants came walking with their mats, beddings and mosquito nets. Some of them carried bananas on their bicycles for their food supply. Lucy and Jack, the driver had to pick up three (3) young ladies from Papagogo, around forty-five minutes to an hour drive from Inauia. They had difficulty in getting a ride to Inau...

El pasado 28 de mayo, la hermana Cecilé Kasongo renovó por tercera vez su consagración y entrega al Señor.  La celebración la tuvimos en casa a causa de la cuarentena y nos acompañó el P.Jhon Freddy Castrillón, quien presidió la Eucaristía.  Las hermanas de las comunidades cercanas se hicieron presentes en la oración y el cariño con diversos mensajes ya que no fue posible su presencia física a causa de las restricciones sanitarias. En casa vivimos un ambiente de alegría y gratitud, de sororidad, de confianza en el Señor. Él que, como buen Padre-Madre es nuestra luz y salvación; Él que, guía y modela nuestro barro para hacernos un cacharro maravilloso a sus ojos, como nos muestra el texto de Jeremías 18,1-12, primera lectura, escogida por la hermana Cecilé para la Eucaristía. The Archdiocese Social Apostolate Skills Training Centre (ASAC) in Port Moresby PNG, held a simple graduation ceremony of the 1 st batch of trainees of 2 months Basic Cooking/Baking and Basic Sewing last May 7, 2020 with the theme: “Weaving and Enhancing our Lives as Working Women with Unity and Dignity”. The celebration was graced by Sir John Cardinal Ribat who awarded personally to the Graduates their Certificates, which they valued so much. In his message, he encouraged the Graduates to make use of the skills learned from the Centre to help their family and share it in their communities and Churches. This group of trainees was affected by the declaration of the State of Emergency due to COVID 19 situation that resulted to the suspension of the training which had two more weeks left. Este es el primer proyecto de capacitación de habilidades patrocinado por la Commonwealth of Learning. La capacitación se realizó en Bereina, Papua Nueva Guinea. Comenzó del 16 al 20 de marzo y se completó del 4 al 8 de mayo de 2020. Participaron veintidós (22) señoras, que principalmente atienden sus hogares y jardines y provienen de las cuatro aldeas, a saber, Inauia, Eboa, Iesubaibua y Angabanga La deficiencia en el programa de capacitación se debió a la implementación del Estado de Emergencia aquí en Papua Nueva Guinea para evitar la propagación de COVID-19. Después de la primera semana de capacitación, nosotras (Hna. Lucy, SSJ, Hna. Concep, SSJ y el equipo) fuimos a Port Moresby para reponer nuestras necesidades y materiales de capacitación y regresamos a Bereina el 22 de marzo de 2020. El 12 de Mayo realizaron su renovación de votos como Siervas de San José, María Isabel García en Santa Clara, Cuba y Katherine Rodríguez en Bogotá, Colombia. María Isabel expresa sus sentimientos de la siguiente manera: "Hoy, 12 de mayo, en compañía de Paquita y Julia (mis hermanas de comunidad), mis padres José Raúl e Isabel y nuestro párroco el P. Wilfredo he renovado mis votos. Doy gracias a Dios por su llamada y por sostener, cuidar y alimentar mi consagración todos los días. This is the first Skills Training Project that the Commonwealth of Learning sponsored. The training was conducted in Bereina, Papua New Guinea. It started on March 16 – 20 and was completed on May 4 – 8, 2020. It was participated by twenty-two (22) ladies, who mainly tend their homes and gardens and come from the four villages namely, Inauia, Eboa, Iesubaibua and Angabanga. The gap in the training schedule was due to the implementation of the State of Emergency here in Papua New Guinea to prevent the spread of COVID-19. After the first week of training, we (Sr. Lucy, SSJ, Sr. Concep, SSJ and team) came to Port Moresby to replenish our training needs and materials and went back to Bereina on March 22, 2020. Since the lock-down was announced and will be implemented on March 24, we advised our trainees to go back to their villages and homes and we traveled back to Port Moresby on the same day.
